However, unlike most of the people I attended school with, I did not believe in contributing to the exponentially growing egos of our teams by treating people like celebrities because of their athletic placement in accordinance to the school's social hierarchy. Therefore, I chose not to acknowledge them as anything more than another human I was passing by in the hallway that I knew little to nothing about.
